DMO (learning how to build a sustainable regional system)

Uncategorized 2024/03/01

We have undertaken an initiative called "Quick Peek at Kesennuma" to turn the lives and workplaces of the port town into content, as well as developing new local gourmet foods through branding that utilizes swordfish, a local marine resource.
In addition, while serving as the secretariat for the Kesennuma Tourism Organization, we are working on the creation of a practical tourism strategy and the realization of the DMO. Currently, we are particularly focusing on creating a marketing system through the issuance of the Kesennuma Crew Card.
By making Kesennuma city residents, reconstruction supporters, tourists, and even people from outside the city who have economic ties to the region into members through this card, we will be able to create a customer list for the entire region and capture new customers. In addition, by linking it to purchasing information from affiliated stores, customer purchasing data will be accumulated locally, and we aim to be able to conduct customer marketing in the region.

The General Incorporated Association Popular Senuma Regional Strategy is accepting applications for tours.

Kesennuma city suffered devastating damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. The city has decided to position tourism as another pillar of its key industry, alongside the fishing industry. We want to uncover the unique charms and characteristics of Kesennuma and create a city that people from Japan and around the world want to visit.
As a part of the Tourism Promotion Organization, Kesennuma Regional Strategy plays a marketing role. By utilizing the Kesennuma Crew Card system, we continue to work to attract people to the town by developing and promoting products that utilize the charms of the region together with local businesses.
