Kesennuma, which has developed thanks to the blessings of the sea and mountains, was the first city in Japan to be certified as a "Slow City" as a slow town that protects and nurtures the local natural environment and traditional culture.
We enjoy the blessings of the ria sea and lush mountains and rivers, and we carefully protect nature, the source of life. We continue to work to foster a food culture and lifestyle unique to the region.

On the other hand, despite being hit by tsunamis countless times, the people of Kesennuma have continued to live in harmony with the sea.
Accepting new things and respecting diversity. Respecting nature and living together with it. The way this town deals with nature is also connected to efforts for the future.

We are introducing efforts to pass on this Kesennuma spirit to future generations as the town's "pride" (KESENNUMA PRIDE).
