Drama [Okaeri Mone] Broadcast: May to October 2021

STORY
This is the story of Nagaura Mone (Kiyohara Kaya), who grew up on an island in Kesennuma Bay in Miyagi Prefecture and experienced a major earthquake when she was in junior high school. After graduating from high school, she meets various people in Tome and Tokyo and aims to become a weather forecaster.

Filming location (1) Town, People and Work Exchange Plaza

Appears as Monet's workplace (Umi-no-Machi Civic Plaza). The interior scenes were shot on a set in Tokyo, with the radio station and social space within the facility as motifs.

Filming location (2) U-shaped wharf


It was also the location where the title sequence was shot, and in the final episode, the scene where Ryo (played by Nagase Ren)'s ship is seen leaving port. The rainbow cloth used in the title sequence and the actual fishing boat sign worn by Ryo are on display at the "Welcome Back Monet Exhibition" in the city.

Filming location (3) Ukimido


It appears as the path to the ferry terminal. It has been used in various scenes, including the scene where Shinji (played by Asano Tadanobu) and Mion (played by Kiyohara Kaya) see off Ryo's (played by Nagase Ren) boat, and the scene where Suganami-sensei (played by Sakaguchi Kentaro) and Mion walk together. It is a spot where you can see beautiful storms from autumn to winter.

It appeared in the scene where Ryo (played by Ren Nagase) first appears and the scene where Mion returns from her hometown. The Hoya Boya mascot attached to Michi (played by Aju Makita)'s bag while she is walking along the cliff was apparently purchased as a souvenir by the cast members themselves.

Filming location (5) Tanakahama Beach


It appears here as the beach that Monet and her friends often visit. It also appears in the scenes where they spend casual time together with their childhood friends, the scene where Michi (played by Aju Makita) and Mion are alone, and the final scene. The video footage of BUMP OF CHICKEN, who sang the theme song, appearing on Kohaku was also shot here. It has become a staple of pilgrimages.

This is the venue for the Kamejima Junior High School brass band's concerts, and one of the locations for shooting posters for dramas. You can take photos dressed as the poster character from the benches at the top of the mountain.

Drama [Special Drama 99.9-Criminal Lawyer-]
Broadcast: December 2021, 12

STORY
The story revolves around lawyer Miyama Taito (Matsumoto Jun), who, even in cases where the defendant is deemed 99.9% guilty, pursues the remaining 0.1% of facts until he is satisfied and wins an acquittal.
Kesennuma City's tourism mascot "Sea squirt" will be appearing in the special drama version. The opening scenes of the special drama were shot in Kesennuma.

Scene Contents
The first scene, which begins when the crew arrives in Kesennuma, is set in the Reconstruction Memorial Park, which overlooks the city. There is also a shot of Miyama praying with his hands together amid the Prayer Sail.

The two fugitives are finally cornered in a fish market, but Miyama (Matsumoto Jun) nonchalantly escapes on a boat, leaving Honoka (Sugisaki Hana) behind.

The filming was done with the full cooperation of local fishermen and the fishing association. The tip of the boat with the deep ridge is where Kesennuma swordfish fishermen stand to cast their spears when they do "tsuinbou fishing."

STORY
Ten years after the Great East Japan Earthquake, a series of mysterious murders occur in Sendai, where people are forced to die of mysterious "starvation." The main character, who has just been released from prison after serving his sentence for a different crime, emerges as a suspect. As the police pursue the main character, the heartbreaking yet shocking truth behind the incidents is revealed in this human mystery.

"Kei's House" is where Tone (played by Takeru Sato), Kan-chan (played by Kosaki Ishii) and Kei (played by Mitsuko Baisho) lived after meeting at an evacuation centre just after the disaster. It also appears in important scenes later on.

In order to recreate the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, the art staff transformed the streets of Ota into the same scenery as they were at the time. The scene where the three of them look happy eating udon at Kei's house was created by drawing inspiration from the "DanpeiThis photo was taken with the cooperation of ".

This is the place where Tone (Sato Takeru), Kan-chan (Ishii Kokorosaki), and Kei (Baisho Mitsuko) meet at an evacuation center immediately after the earthquake.

The scene was shot on a hot day in early summer. As it was set around the time of the earthquake, the cast and extras wore winter clothes such as down jackets. The schoolyard set was very realistic, and Sato's realistic acting touched the hearts of the extras, making for a very emotional scene.

STORY
A joint production by Fuji Television, Aniplex, and Aeon Entertainment, the story is about the youthful lives of a high school boys' rhythmic gymnastics club set in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture.

Kesennuma appears in episode 11 (out of 12) as the venue for the "Tohoku Tournament," the showdown between rival schools. The exterior and interior of the building are depicted so realistically that they are almost perfect replicas, and the quality is such that you should definitely visit the filming locations. The city's tourism mascot, Hoya Boya, also appears.

Movie "Sparrow's Door Lock" Release Date: November 2022

The film "Sparrow's Door Lock" was released for a whopping 2022 days from November 11, 11 to May 2023, 5, and set numerous records. The story even featured our city's "Otani Kaigan Roadside Station" as a model.

STORY

The story begins in a quiet port town in Kyushu. On her way to school, 17-year-old girl Suzume Iwato, who lives with her aunt, passes by a handsome young man with long hair named Sota Munakata.

Doors that bring disaster are opening one after another all over the country. The story follows the protagonist as he travels with Kusata, a "locker" who locks those doors.

Movie [Sunset Sunrise] Release date: January 2025

STORY
This human comedy follows a man who is a fisherman and decides to "trial move" to Sanriku for remote work from Tokyo, where he discovers a new way of life through his interactions with the local people.
