On Mondays, we have a section where we all talk about Welcome Back Mone! Last week's broadcast... it brought up all kinds of emotions. I imagine that people have different opinions about each character they care about. But that's what's good about it. In that sense, I was really grateful for this letter! This section will be brought to you by Sayumi.
Now, let's talk about what happened last week!
Letters introduced in this section may also be introduced on Kesennuma's community FM station, "Radio Kesennuma." Letters sent to the radio may also be introduced here.
There are also apps that allow you to listen to radio stations from all over the country, so please see the last explanation for more details.
This issue's letter
Wait a second, is Udagawa-san the same as Tomizawa-san from Sand?! New!
It's interesting that he gave "I'll have a bath in Sand" as the reason. But I also feel like he's a comedian, somehow. I wonder who he is.
And everyone's acting in this film was really amazing. I was drawn in by their detailed facial expressions.
Also, Michael J. Kanematsu, aren't you so professional that you always start with, "It's Michael, I've seen him three times!" and end with, "That was Michael!?"
Ryochin learned something new by having Monet listen to him.I want people to be supported in their "will to live." I hope that at the end of the drama, everyone finds happiness. (Umakkoyama)
Thank you very much for your continued support, Umakkoyama-san.
I didn't mention this in the Monet Diary, but one thing became clear when Ryochin's grandmother showed up: Minami was still "missing."
In other words, Shinji couldn't give up the hope that "Minami might still be alive somewhere"... If he recovered from his grief and filed the death certificate, that would be the end of it. I guess he's been avoiding that. I think I understand why Shinji couldn't recover to that extent.
As Umakkoyama-san said, I really want everyone to be happy in the end. I feel like praying for them.
Is the new guy watching with Ape and Pene finally addicted to Monet? I can see him wiping away tears with his arm. What a great company.
But the people of Kesennuma (Shinji-san and Mi-chan) really are amazing! They suddenly grab hold of the depths of my heart! But I love them!
I too would love to see more people from Kesennuma in the film! Thank you for your very honest and wonderful feedback.
It's a bit early to say "Welcome Back Mone 2"! But we don't know yet. We don't know if it will end before the 10th anniversary of the earthquake, Hachibei-san. From here on, the story may develop rapidly and depict Kesennuma 200 years later, with climate change drastically changing! (It's no longer a morning drama.)
Eh? ...But it's going to end in about 2 months? Wow, that'll definitely be Moneros...
That scene of Koji being a doting father was heartwarming and good! And I never expected things to turn out like this... That was the weekend I thought.
I think it's true that "If you stamp the seal, you might be able to open up the world before your eyes." The grandmother may have brought the letter because she wanted Shinji to look forward. On today's (8/30) broadcast, Koji said, "Think about Ryo, too." Will this be the catalyst for Shinji to change in some way?

▲I want that smile back
I wanted Ryo-chin and Mi-chan to be happy so badly that they appeared in my dream. In my dream, they had a happy ending, but I wonder what will happen. I think it's about time for Monet-chan and Suganami-sensei to make their feelings clear. Or rather, Ryo-chin and Mi-chan, please make your feelings clear too. I'm so worried it's painful. (Nagoya no Mayuko)
I hope that Shinji can somehow see signs of improvement, even if just a little at a time...
Also, I understand... I understand. Mayuko-san from Nagoya. There are so many things in this drama that make me think "You should have told me!"... But thanks to you, I understood.
That's because "we watch this drama to get our minds worked up"! We go to the sauna to feel short of breath, and climb mountains to tire our legs and backs! Because on the other side, catharsis awaits!!
I think that's probably true of this drama too. I think that beyond the worries, a divine development awaits!
With that feeling, next week's subtitle will be "Young people." I'll be watching while wondering, "Is there a reason why they didn't choose "Young people"?" By the way, would next week's subtitle be "Wagee Stazu" in the local dialect? (sigh) (Totokichi)
I laughed at the last line, "Wagee Stads." If the subtitle was "Wagee Stads," I think it would be a little more soothing.
"Mune and the unknown" was the title of last week's weekly article. I think Totokichi's way of thinking about the contrast is very interesting! These two people are contrasted in many ways, Tokyo and Kesennuma, glamorous jobs and quiet jobs, being absent during the earthquake and being left behind...
I felt bad that she threw away the dress... I felt like a dress was a symbol of the exhilarating feelings of love, so I was like, why would she throw it away...
But as Koji-san said, the future should be bright for young people. Let's entrust our hopes to the future of Wagestazu starting from tomorrow.
Moto-san. Yes, that's right. I thought the same. Shinji-san, Ryochin, and Mi-chan all had a lot going on. I can't help but side with the team that stayed in Kesennuma, but I think the way you see this drama changes a lot depending on which character you empathize with. But I don't want anyone to get hurt...
Although it can be hard to watch at times, it really moves you emotionally, so in conclusion I think it's a fantastic drama!
That concludes the 16th episode!
This week, I'll be sending you a special treat. What? It's the alcohol that appeared in the drama!

▲A special gift sent to Mion on her 20th birthday.
(I really want to send you all something, but I've decided to send you "heart" gifts just to show my appreciation. Sorry...)
By the way, Kesennuma has a sake called Bekku, so please try that too. Let's drink it for now.

▲This is the "special class" sake from Kakusei, a sake brewery in Kesennuma.
Thank you so much to everyone who sent in letters!
