Letter collection section Updated October 9th

Let's talk about "Welcome Back Mone" together! 19th

Letters Corner 2021/09/20

On Mondays, we'll be talking about "Welcome Back Mone" together! We'll be discussing the contents of last week's broadcast.
Typhoons, heavy rains, tornadoes...natural disasters strike suddenly. Since I started watching the drama, I've been paying more attention to weather information than usual. It's a good idea to check evacuation procedures and emergency equipment!
Now, let's introduce the letters. This corner is handled by Sayumi.

Letters introduced in this section may also be introduced on Kesennuma's community FM station, "Radio Kesennuma." Letters sent to the radio may also be introduced here.
There are also apps that allow you to listen to radio stations from all over the country, so please see the last explanation for more details.

This issue's letter

The "Your Town Weather Forecaster - Nationwide, Every Corner Plan" was too grand in scale, so it wasn't approved as a business. But it would be great if Mone's feelings for her hometown - "I want to go back to my hometown of Kamejima one day and do what I can" - would be conveyed, and her dream would come true through her work. Right now, Mone feels that Kesennuma and Kamejima and Tome (Yonema Clinic, Yonema Forestry Association) are one and the same, and very close to each other. (When I looked it up, I found that Kesennuma City and Tome City are large in area.)
The climax of the series will be broadcast in October, and I think Kesennuma will be shown a lot, so I'm really looking forward to it. I'd like to visit the filming locations. (Umakkoyama)

Thank you for your continued support! I hope that one day Monet's dream will come true in my work.
Also, as you said, Kesennuma City and Tome City are quite large when you look at the map...! It takes about an hour by car. If you are in Kesennuma, I recommend you to go by car if possible.
There is also a stamp rally that takes you around the locations where the film is set, which I also recommend.

Today (September 9th) and yesterday, I watched it three times, including the recording, and it's Michael who is getting excited for the third time. Lately, I've been daydreaming a lot, so I'll stop here this time.
As we are about to enter the Kesennuma arc, there are many plot twists and things I want to see resolved. Who will say "Welcome back, Mone"? What will happen to Mone and Suganami-sensei's future? What will happen to Mi-chan and Ryo-chin? Will Udagawa-san make an appearance? And so on.
However, this time I made a different discovery. It reminded me of the relationship between weather forecaster Morita's speculation on Monet's birth date and typhoons. Apparently, a typhoon actually occurred in real life on September 1995, 9, which is Monet's birthday in the drama. What's more, today (September 17) is the day the typhoon passes through in the drama, and in real life Typhoon No. 9 makes landfall in Western Japan, so there's a link. Incidentally, today is also Sayaka's birthday. So, it's going to be another boring weekend without Monet broadcasts, but have a great weekend! (Michael J. Kanematsu)

Hahaha.
That's right. The link to reality is really amazing. Natural phenomena like typhoons are really coincidences, so they feel even more real. Even when we hear that a typhoon is going to hit an area far away from where we live, it feels closer to us than usual, and I think that's because I watch this drama.
September 9th, Monet-chan and Sayaka-san too! Happy birthday!
I'm looking forward to your Michael fantasies!

This week was a work week. With the Tokyo arc coming to an end, I was happy to see Takamura-san and Sawatari-san's sincere attitude towards their work.
By the way, this typhoon, as well as the previous typhoon and torrential rains, are wonderfully synchronized with reality. Does this mean that the production team is choosing the broadcast week to target the period when typhoons and torrential rains are likely to occur in reality? Probably.
If that's the case, then you're probably asking Mr. Saida, who is in charge of meteorological research, "When would be a good time to include a summer typhoon episode?" or "When would be a good time to include torrential rain?"
So does that mean that Saida-san's prediction about this synchronization rate was spot on? What do you think?
This is completely just my own imagination, but if that's the case, isn't Saita-san amazing? I hope that one day Saita-san will appear on Asaichi and tell us some behind-the-scenes stories. It's not directly related to Welcome Back Mone, but I watched Document 72 Hours! I felt like I got a glimpse into the world in which Ryo-chin, Shinji-san and the others live. I hope that the Kesennuma episode will depict a bright, unknown future for Ryo-chin, Shinji-san and the others. And of course, we'll also see the happiness of Suganami-sensei and Mone!!! (Chinasuke)

Wow, that's true!
We were just talking about the link to the real world, but that might mean that the forecasts made by the weather forecaster in charge of this weather analysis, Kimiji Saida, are incredible! This week's "Well-Noticed Award" goes to him! Wow, I'd love to hear the story behind it.
Also, thank you for watching Document 72 Hours. The Fisherman's Convenience Store is very close to the fish market, and it's a place that has a port town feel. The "Welcome Back Monet" exhibition is also being held at the nearby Sea Market, so I hope you'll stop by when you're sightseeing.

▲ Sake Saishin is also introduced in this article.

May the Kesennuma chapter have a happy ending!

Recently,Monet's Diary" has become my weekend entertainment. I live in Kyushu, and over the weekend Typhoon 14 was approaching in real time, and the actual typhoon information was displayed on the TV screen, which made the tension even more intense and gave me a strange feeling when I watched. This week, Takamura-san was definitely cool. I also have subordinates at work, and there are many things I learn from them, such as the way they speak and interact with others. Also, Kannon (Riko-chan) looked really cute with glasses. (Masa)

I'm so happy! Masa-san! Thank you for reading my diary. As you said, I also saw on social media that it was linked to "Typhoon information on TV screens."
Takamura-san's sharp newscaster look was perfect. He looked really cool.
And then there's these glasses!

It was so cute! I saw something great!

A typhoon has come in the real world. Influenced by the drama, I cleaned up the outside more than usual. Monet was a good job girl this week too. She looked cool giving instructions with an intercom in the studio.
The old lady who gave Monet the information about the Banba River over the phone must have felt relieved to have been able to tell her. If it were me, I would have screamed even louder.
A tornado after a typhoon. I wonder if my grandpa's oyster rack is okay, and if Ryo-chin is safe. I hope nothing happens. I can't believe I'm heading into the weekend feeling so unsettled... Then I saw the preview and my eyes were watering. I think about how peaceful and precious it is to be healthy and smiling, both for myself and the people around me. (Nagoya no Mayuko)

It's true that the influence of the drama makes me feel like I can act with a greater sense of urgency than usual.

My grandma wasn't a fangirl, surprisingly. I think I would have screamed too.
Well, it's Monday as I'm writing this today, but... My head is full of thoughts about my grandpa. I'm glad that everyone is safe, but it's hard to imagine a place that has just been restored after the earthquake being hit by another tornado. I wonder what will happen...
I truly feel grateful to be healthy, energetic, and at peace.

The wonderful main visual was officially announced on September 9th (Monet's birthday), and the homepage of the official website was also changed accordingly, giving us even more hope for the upcoming Kesennuma edition. I can't help but think, "That's really clever, NHK!" How are you all doing these days?
Well, this week, I was engrossed in watching the weather forecasters as a typhoon approached, like in "Document 72 Hours," but I was time-warped for about two years at the beginning, so my imagination couldn't keep up! (laughs) So I thought of a "spin-off" following "The Nagaura Sisters Detective Story." (sweats) 2. Su-chan and Mamo-chan starring [Beware of Over-raising! ~Asumi's Handsome Boy Raising Simulation~]. XNUMX. [High Heels are Battle Suits ~Takamura Satoko's Struggles~] depicting her exploits from her days as a newscaster to the present. XNUMX. What is daily life at Shiomiyu? [From the Reception Desk at Shiomiyu ~Natsu's Sketch Diary~]. And so on... Also, if I could come up with a story about Monet and Suganami-sensei seen from the perspective of a stuffed shark... There's no end to it. (laughs) (Totokichi)

Ahahahaha, Totokichi-san! What a great spin-off!! I think...High Heels are Battle Uniforms ~Satoko Takamura's Struggle~" is good... (The title reminds me of "Sajo Taeko - The Last Case"). I really admire "career women (is that an outdated term?)" who have survived such tough times. I wonder if she and Asaoka-san are getting along... I think Reporter Sawatari will do a good job. Also, Su-chan and Mamo-chan are a happy romantic comedy with a Korean drama feel.
Huh? What? I can't stop for a while.
I'd love to do another spin-off of Totokichi's fantasy as a special edition.

"It warmed my heart to see the young people facing their work sincerely. That's the best part of being an elder." These words from Takamura-san really warmed my heart as an elder. The young people work hard without sleep with the sole desire to protect and spread life. But this is only possible because of cool seniors like Asaoka-san and Takamura-san. I strongly felt that I want to be a senior who can help to shape the sincere feelings of the young people, even if it is just a small power.
And today I was re-reading the guidebook for "Welcome Back Monet," and Sakaguchi Kentaro said, "I want you to witness the purity and innocence of Monet and Suganami." Purity means having a pure heart and no selfish desires... I hope that they don't end up sad because they are so beautiful, but I also hope that they will show us something even more beautiful. Monet is finally going home. Monet in the new poster is as cute as a goddess, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens in the next month or so. (Moto)

The new visuals were amazing!
▼You can see it on the official website!
https://www.nhk.or.jp/okaerimone/index.html
I saw this and thought, "You've shown this illustration before when you talked about the circulation of the forest and the sea. I thought the fact that the motifs of Tokyo, Tome, Kesennuma, and the people you met there are used in the illustrations was a message that somehow everything is connected."

Oh yeah, and I want to be a trusted elder like Desk Takamura, and have the integrity of Monet and Dr. Suganami.

The one who reported the tornado was Saito Take! Such a name you'd expect to find in Kesennuma! Off the top of my head, there are three people I can think of. After the morning Mone, I protested to one of them, just like Desk Takamura, saying "Don't spread fake news." But he didn't know anything about it. Of course. I'm immersed in the drama world on my own. I'm even more excited about the Kesennuma episode, the main story and the props. Even though it's only the weekend, I can't wait for Monday. (Ape and Pene)

Ape and Pene? Did you send them to "Saito Take"? Lol
That's right, the name of the person who posted the Kesennuma tornado information on the weather app was "Saito Take". There are so many people named "Saito" in Kesennuma! I'm thinking of sending a message to "Saito Take" who I know saying "You did it, didn't you?" Well, if you think about it normally, it's a bit scary.

▲The "Saito Take" I know

That concludes the 19th episode!

This week, I'm sending you my heartfelt "Kesennuma Matsutake". Surprising, right?! Kesennuma is a place where you can harvest matsutake! At this time of year, some stores will serve them, and direct from the farm they are sometimes sold at prices you wouldn't believe are domestic. You'll be lucky if you come across them! (Actually, I'd really like to send you something to thank you for, but I'm writing this with the intention of sending you something "from my heart"...!)

Thank you very much to everyone! We have received many long and heartfelt letters, but even a brief message is fine! Please feel free to send it to us. We look forward to receiving your enthusiastic letters from all over the city, prefecture, and country!
