Eat 2022/03/25

When you visit Kesennuma as a tourist, you're likely to think, "The first meal is seafood!", but after a series of fish dishes, you'll want to try something completely different. The same goes for the locals of Kesennuma, who, after a series of fish dishes at home, will start to feel like, "Oh, I want to eat something other than fish!"

At times like these, you may want to eat ramen, right? There are many ramen restaurants in Kesennuma. In this section, we would like to introduce some of the "ramen recommended by locals."

Ramen Flame

▲ Miso ramen (spicy)

Ramen Homura's recommended dish is the miso ramen, which has been passed down from its predecessor and further evolved. The soup is fragrant with plenty of sesame seeds, and is characterized by its crunchy vegetables and light aftertaste. The soup is spicy, but you can adjust the spiciness if you ask when ordering.

▲Fried rice

The fried rice, with its fluffy egg and mild flavor, goes perfectly with the ramen soup.
The restaurant has a counter, tables, and raised seating, making it an easy place to come whether you're alone or with your family.

The soup is full of the umami of seafood such as bonito and kelp, and has a slightly sweet and gentle taste. It is a taste that is loved by people of all ages, from children to the elderly.

▲Danpei Udon

Although it's not a ramen shop, the signature dish at this udon restaurant is "Danpei Udon," topped with bonito flakes, pickled ginger, grated daikon radish, eggs, etc. In the summer, they also offer "Cold Danpei Udon," which allows you to taste the shop's proud soup stock.
