Shigeya Yamamoto Exhibition "365 Small Landscape Paintings of Kesennuma"

An exhibition will be held showcasing 2 landscape paintings of Kesennuma that illustrator Shigeya Yamamoto, who moved to Kesennuma, continued to paint every day for two years after he moved there.

Comment from Yamamoto

Two years have passed since I moved to Kesennuma. The works on display this time are 2 pieces from my second year of continuing to paint one Kesennuma landscape per day. What is important to me when I paint is to find happiness and beauty in the ordinary everyday things. I have painted scenes that I find soothing and wonderful, such as the kindness of the people I meet in Kesennuma and the sparkling beauty of the sea that cannot be seen in the city. I would be happy if I could share with everyone the idea that "Kesennuma is really great!" or "It's wonderful!" through my works, which depict the ever-changing light and the changing of the seasons.
